Monsoon flooding damaged intake structures on four gravity-flow schemes in Karnali. The board activated the emergency response mechanism on 28 August with a cap of $180,000 from reserves, the first activation since 2023.

The fund covers repair materials, engineer time and the re-commissioning checks the schemes must pass before they re-enter the service statistics. It does not cover household compensation, which is the mandate of the district disaster fund.

The fund closes when the four schemes pass a full-year service check, and every drawdown is listed in the next quarterly spending note. Repairs are tracked on the Nepal program page.
